Like buses...

I finally have a job.

But two days later a deanery that had previously rejected me, for missing the application cut-off mark by 0.5, invited me for an interview. Which I had to reject of course.

So I sit here wondering what might have been had I got a job in another (more Southern, it has to be said) part of the country, but ultimately concluding that fate/karma/whatever has plans for me in a similar latitude.

And it appears, that for all my angst and anguish, I may be one of the lucky ones.

Whilst my requirements, compared to friends with medical partners, were not so great: all I wanted was a medical job, anywhere. It was only a medical job - competitive, but not like surgical specialties - undersubscribed by women, but wholly over-subscribed: ENT for instance has something like 4 trainee places in the whole of England! (something like that)

Am I glad I have no compunction to cut.

Ah, so now work has been granted by the gods of medicine. But what of it? And what of those in the higher latitudes?

Prey tell where was said offer in the Southern parts?

Keep one posted on the latest happenings.
