This first half of the day doesnt seem to have been too bad at all.......
I remembered to go to handover in the morning - which was good. Only one of my patients had required attention over night - which is not too bad, and even better is the fact that there was not anything really wrong with him.
My morning consisted of two neurological exams, running to the x-ray department and back again and countless minutes on the phone, listening to a really bad version of the brandenburg concerto.
My consultant called to say there would not be a big ward round....
Then was a free lunch - which was good, and a lecture, which I missed cos my SHO* wants to check on all the patients at a time which would mean me having to leave the lecture half way, which a) I think is rude and b) it draws attention to me, and being the type of person who likes to be invisible, that is something I wouldn't easily do (unless I was offered a million pounds!).
For once I am actually getting the half an hour break I am paid to take (of which I only took 10 minutes yesterday), and wondering what tonight is going to be like.
Why tonight, I hear you ask?
No it is not that i have finally got a social life and am going out - I cant see that happening any time soon.
But I am looking after the medical wards until 9pm tonight....ALL the medical wards...well, all except the two wards where they expect ultra-serious ultra-bad things to go off, and hence, they are for the SHO who's covering the wards to look after.
Considering how well the day has gone, I have a feeling I'm in for a baaaaad night.........
